'Smultronkulle' - Strawberry Hill - so it looked in May 1998. The wild strawberries became aggressive, they have spread themselves all over the hill. Another aggressive plant is Cerastium tomentosum which are sown themselves from the raised bed against the south wall of the house. Sedum acre has also bad habit to crowd in every free inch. Poor Heuchera sanguinea, that with red, small flowers, is almost opressed by one only bushy plant of cultivated strawberry. I had to take off a part of it later. The lilac-pink cuchion there is Phlox maculata. |
